Want to know the difference between proofreading and editing? I have a side-by-side comparison here.
editing.
The carousel above shows covers of the last 35 reports, briefs, tools, and annual reports I edited for RAND (the ones that have cover images, anyway). Details on my editing work are here.
writing.
Writing and editing and proofreading and laying out and formatting all kinds of documents. Business plans, user guides, technical documentation, marketing brochures, web copy, resumes, dissertations and theses, feature articles, legal memoranda and briefs, risk-management plans, policies, procedures—you get the idea.
design.
Graphic design, data visualization, infographics, illustration, branding, invitations, maps, document design and layout..
instruction.
I’ve taught people to shop for a meal, about diversity and inclusion in the workplace, to make jicama slaw, to be great camp counselors, to hug a tree, about the Holocaust, to install software, to use software, to administer networks, to edit, and to sing goofy songs. I’ve taught them in classrooms, in computer labs, in the woods, in shops, at camp, in apartments, in grocery stores, and in offices. I develop my own curricula and I edit others.
other stuff.
I’ve done a lot of editing, teaching, and a little illustration.
